Ortega Pizza

Make your own pizza without the bother of preparing conventional pizza crust and homemade sauce. This is a great recipe to share with your kids. They’ll love creating fun topping combinations.


  2 prepared 12-inch pizza crusts

  1 3/4 cups ORTEGA® Refried Beans (1-pound can)

  1.25 oz ORTEGA® Taco Seasoning Mix (1 package)

  1/4 cup sour cream

  2 Tbs chopped green onion (1 large)

  4 oz SARGENTO® ChefStyle Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese

  4 oz SARGENTO® Fancy Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese or 4 Cheese Mexican Blend

  1/2 cup sliced ripe olives (2 1/4-ounce can)

  1/2 cup ORTEGA® Diced Green Chiles (4-ounce can)

  ORTEGA® Thick & Chunky Salsa

  Chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

  Chopped fresh tomato (optional)

  ORTEGA® Sliced Jalapeños (optional)

PREHEAT oven according to pizza crust package directions.

COMBINE beans, seasoning mix, sour cream and green onion in medium bowl.

SPREAD half of bean mixture over one crust to within 1 inch of edge; top with 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup Monterey Jack cheese, 1/4 cup olives and 1/4 cup chiles. Repeat with remaining crust, cheese, olives and chiles.

BAKE according to pizza crust package directions or until crust is crisp and cheese is melted. Garnish with salsa, cilantro, tomato and jalapeños.
